David Suslík, Head of Sales for the Betting Sector, exclusively shared the company’s plans for the country

Flashscore, a real-time sports results platform, is strengthening its presence in Brazil with strategies focused on the local audience. The company inaugurated its local headquarters in São Paulo in January 2025 and already has a Brazilian team working in marketing, sales, and content.

The first major step in strengthening the brand in the country was participating in the SBC Summit Rio, where the company had its first stand in Brazil. According to the company, being at the event significantly increased brand awareness and helped establish connections with potential partners. The next objective is to consolidate these relationships and further expand visibility in the national market. Flashscore has already confirmed its presence at BiS SiGMA São Paulo in April, continuing its brand-strengthening efforts.

Currently, the platform has 7 million users in Brazil, a significant number with great growth potential in a country of 220 million inhabitants. Unlike in Europe, where the brand is already widely recognized, the company understands that in Brazil, a deeper adaptation to the local audience is necessary.

To further explore this strategy, MediaBet Brasil exclusively interviewed David Suslík, Head of Sales for the Betting Sector at Flashscore, who detailed the company’s ambitious plans to solidify its position in Brazil.

Exclusive Interview

MediaBet: How does Flashscore plan to gain great visibility in Brazil?
David Suslík: We launched a local entity in Brazil in January, in São Paulo, and already have a solid Brazilian team working in marketing, sales, and content. With this local structure, we will continue expanding the team in the country.

Now, we have our first stand in Brazil at SBC Rio, which is helping significantly in building our brand in the country. Flashscore is already highly recognized globally, with more than 110 million users, and in Europe, almost everyone knows our brand. However, in Brazil, we don’t yet have the same level of recognition, despite our large user base.

That’s why one of the first steps was to be present at the SBC Summit Rio, to attract attention and establish connections. Many potential partners now know who we are, are aware of our presence in Brazil, and from there, we will work on these connections. In April, we will be back for BiS SiGMA São Paulo, continuing our strategy of strengthening our brand and relationships in Brazil.

MediaBet: What is the specific strategy for the Brazilian audience?
David Suslík: We know there are many sources of sports information, from Google to newspapers and specialized websites. Our strategy is to become the most comprehensive platform when it comes to sports data, going far beyond live scores, which have always been our main feature.

Now, we are expanding our coverage to include detailed player and team statistics, news, and much more. We want to offer a deeper experience, allowing users to see player histories, transfer values, movements between clubs and leagues, among other information.

Our goal is for users to find everything they need about sports and football directly on our platform, without needing to search other sites. This way, we create a complete ecosystem with everything a sports fan wants in one place.

MediaBet: How do you plan to make an impact with this strategy in Brazil?
David Suslík: Many people don’t fully understand how Flashscore works. The big difference with our platform is that the data we present, especially live data, is generated internally.

We have a dedicated team exclusively focused on collecting and updating sports information, tracking games in real-time, accessing official league and club sources, and feeding our highly developed system. This allows us not to depend on third parties, ensuring an unmatched level of depth and speed.

We often receive reports from users saying they receive goal notifications even before seeing them on TV. This happens because our system is extremely fast and efficient.

Additionally, we have local specialists in each country who maintain constant dialogue with users to understand what can still be improved. If we notice high demand for lower-division Brazilian football, for example, we are quick to incorporate these competitions. Brazil is one of our strongest markets, and in some areas, we are already the leading live score platform, while in others, we are in the top 3. Our goal is to solidify this position and ensure comprehensive coverage for Brazilian fans, regardless of the state, championship, or league they follow.

MediaBet: What changes with the regulation of the Brazilian market?
David Suslík: Flashscore has always viewed market regulation positively, as it brings clearer rules and greater protection for users. That’s why we welcome the Brazilian regulation with enthusiasm.

The new rules have created a favorable environment for Flashscore, especially because there are now many licensed operators we aim to work with. However, there are still challenges, such as new advertising guidelines, which local brands are still learning to follow.

We expect that, between the implementation of the regulation at the beginning of the year and the start of the Brazilian Série A Championship, there will be a transition period for brands to better understand how to operate within the new rules.

Our focus, therefore, is on identifying the right partners, as some brands that were strong before regulation may lose space, while new companies that are complying with the rules may emerge with strength.

Starting in 2025, we want to consolidate our partnerships and ensure that Brazilian users have access to the best brands in the regulated market, following the established guidelines.
